Who will answer you
Your enquiry goes to a travel designer, not a call centre. Three of the four below answer the post; the fourth is the reason we ask about diets in your first message.

Planning calls run from 8am to 9pm India Standard Time, UTC+5:30. India never changes its clocks, so the gap moves when yours do. Messages are welcome at any hour, and each gets a reply within 24 hours.

On the road
Already travelling with us
Keep two numbers in your phone: your driver's and the office's. The office answers 24x7 by phone and on WhatsApp, which usually holds on hotel Wi-Fi even where the mobile signal thins.
- A closed or slow roadYour driver checks the road the evening before and at first light. If you are waiting and nobody has said why, call us for the plan B and the time it adds.
- A flight moved or cancelledSend the new time as soon as you have it. The next drive, night and permit dates may have to move, and we rearrange them as our booking terms describe.
- Someone unwell or feeling the altitudeCall before the next drive, not after it. The larger hospitals are in Siliguri and Gangtok, and oxygen rides in the car on the high Sikkim days.
- A room that is not rightCold, noisy or not the room in your quote: call on the first evening, not at check-out, while it can still be changed.
- A change of planA skipped sunrise is settled with your driver on the day. Extra nights, rooms or permits go through us, and you hear the cost before anything is booked.
- Lost papers or a lost phoneYour driver or guide carries copies of every permit and ID for the party. Call us from their phone.
Documents
Sending passports and IDs
To quote, we need only nationalities and ages. Once you say yes, email clear colour scans for the whole party, once.

Sikkim, foreign and OCI guests
For the Restricted Area Permit, filed through e-FRRO about 30 days before you reach Sikkim: passport photo page, Indian visa or e-Visa approval, and a recent photograph. Sikkim treats OCI cardholders as foreign, so they send the same, with the OCI card.

Sikkim's high roads, Indian guests
For Tsomgo, Nathu La, North Sikkim or Zuluk: a passport, or the original voter ID card rather than a printout, filed by a registered Sikkim operator. Aadhaar and PAN are refused. Bring printed passport photographs: two each, and four for Zuluk.

Bhutan
Indian guests: an original passport with six months' validity or the original voter ID card, plus a birth certificate in English or a passport for every child under 18, and two photographs for each child's permit. Other passports: the photo page, also with six months' validity, and a digital photograph for the US$40 e-visa.

Where your scans go
Only to the official portals and the registered agents who file for you. Printed permits ride with your driver or guide. Our privacy page sets out what we keep and how to ask us to delete your details.
